Auto Larceny (no Q-content)

Well, in my latest trip to the East Coast (Baltimore area) for
conferences, the worst happened:

some hoodlums from the projects (actual quote from the police officers)
decided that my Olds Intrigue rental was just nice enough to break into
while I was at dinner in Little Italy.

Stole MANY things, including laptop, clothes, suitcase, briefcase,
PalmPilot (1 month old, replacement from my freshly-dropped one), and
cellular phone.

Before anyone says anything, these items were WELL out of sight -- in
trunk actually, and there was no obvious reason to steal from the car.
Living in Baltimore for 4 years does that to you.

Now, my questions are: who can I call to find out if I'm covered? Any
tips or BTDTs in these situations? I know I'm calling the homeowner's and
auto insurance, and TPTB at the University that rented the car for me, as
they might (doubtedly) have some insurance in this situation.

Any suggestions welcomed.
Cheers (as much as I can),
Mark
