I pulled the bentley manual and was able to locate the instructions.
Drilling it out didn't *quite* work as advertised... So I drilled the
crap out of it and pried it open.
Well, I've got the key tumbler component now, BUT!!
But the tab off the back of it is what is broken. This has been the problem
all along. I don't think Audi foresaw (sic- 'had forseen?') this part
breaking, rather some other component of the locking system. Having
broken tumblers is as useless as having a complete set and no key.
So it looks like I'll have to go for a complete new unit. Chris Semple has located one for me.
