Re: Chevy speak (long)

Hi all,
Have been out of the Coupe following business for a while, just catching up
three months of list traffic.

Looks like some Coupes have been biting the dust. I'm sorry to see that. Are
those who have totaled the car buying the salvage to part? If so, contact
me.

Had to comment on this, Mark:

There are a ton of CRXs and Civics that will turn 11s. I can give you a few
who have broken into the 10s. Hondas can offer up some amazing power with a
little work, even without building the bottom end. I am driving an upper 12
second Miata with a bone stock bottom end... 113mph in the 1/4. Looking at
Motor Trend numbers they range from 12.3 at 114.4 for a '96 Porsche 911
Turbo to 11.9 at 116.6 for a '97 Porsche 911 Turbo S. Granted, these are
stock numbers, but the import numbers I quoted were from bracket racing, not
just starting the clock when the car rolls, as Motor Trend does.

Now, at a couple import drags there have been 911s that have shown up, and
have been tuned a bit. They are very competitive and have won some, but that
is a very bold statement that and older 930 will blow the doors off any CRX.

Bottom line - don't question ETs of Hondas unless you're seeing 9s. It's a
very fast world out there... wait 'til I get my high pressure actuator,
revised exhaust system and a 50 shot of juice on the miata... look out low
12s ( and look out 911 turbos <g>)
