If it comes to a rebuild, I would strongly recommend replacing the whole
thing with  a factory-rebuilt unit on a warranty. Unless you have someone
in the area who specializes in Audi boxes, rebuild attempt can turn into a
disaster (how about 6 months without a car, lots of frustration, and the
box still isn't quite right. THis happened to us with a 4K)
