Looking at an '89 V8

I'm not a V-8 Audi owner, but I recall enough on the list to comment that you
will want to be prepared to change that timing belt right after you buy it.
As I recall from Ned Ritchie's site, the change mileage is lower than for the
I-5 engines, check the data at:
<A HREF="http://intendedacceleration.com/html/tip_13.html">Ned's notes on V-8
timing belts </A>

The cost of the belts here in the U.S. is about $200. I'm not sure how
difficult the procedure is, but I'd be willing to wager that (with two cams
per side) it ain't anywhere near as simple as the I-5 you have now.

V-8 owners can give you comments about other things to watch for, but I know
this was enough for me to let them alone for a while.

	Later.
