SURVEY for '90 & '91 Audi Owners - airbag?

I was curious as to whether or not US model Audi's had a driver's side
airbag or not.

As some of you know, I am in the process of importing a CQ into the states
from Canada.  The car is titled as a 1991 and does not have an air bag.  We
are split about 50/50 on whether the car needs an air bag to pass through
customs.  Brokers, US Customs and others all have a different answer.  I
think I might be okay if not all 1991 US models had air bags. We are
waiting for a letter from Audi but I was curious to what is out there.
