4ksq/CGT motor swap

Hey all,

The weather's starting to cool off, and it's time
for
me to start working towards getting the 4ksq
roadworthy.

I want to take the motor out of my '86 Coupe GT,
and
put it in the '85 4ksq. I know it's alot of work
for
just the stock n/a motor, but finances are an
issue,
as is available working space (parts car storage,
etc.),
and time (tracking down a donor).

I'm wondering if it is easier to drop the
engine/tranny
combo as a unit from the bottom, rather than
disconnect
the motor from the tranny and take the motor out
of the
top.

Or, taking the motor/tranny as a unit out the top
maybe.

Which is the easiest method? I do not have a
cherry
picker yet, and will have to buy one if I'm doing
things
from the top end. I was going to try to get buy
with a
big floor jack from the bottom if I could. Am I
dreaming?

Any help is appreciated (advice and actual
physical labor
if you're nearby ;-) ).

Please CC me directly with any replies.

Thanks alot,

Ken

p.s. My distributor broke off the motor in the
accident,
so I hope that will not have caused any big
problems. Any
opinions on that? (I have another distributor of
course)

p.p.s. Anyone have a Coupe GT or something like
that for
sale? Or a 5 speed quattro? I have other options
for
transpo, but haven't found anything good on the
'net.
Arizona/California area preferred.
