  I don't know if this will help, but on my 5k the
 hood release cable goes through a rubber grommet
 which had come loose.  Didn't result in a puddle
 but the carpet was very wet.

 I think you nailed it - recently ran driving light wires thru there. Bet
thats the source of the water. Thanks
