Audi models
Hi all,
Went to a swapmeet on Saturday and bought a couple of nice Audi models for
my collection. One is a very nicely-done 1:87 (1in long!) S2 coupe as raced
in German Touring Cars series in '93. Superb detail, excellent decals. I
also found a white version (not original, I think) of the 1:18 Avus
quattro, a very cheap 1:24 kit of the 90 2.3E, a 1:43 '87 90q in its
original dealer intro box, another 1:87- this time Hans-Joachim Stuck's V8
racer (amazingly detailed, complete with rollcage!). My last find was a
real oddity- an '86 200 turbo in 1:25. It's made by Mira in Spain and is
still in its original box, showing no sign of ever having been opened. The
model is quite accurate, but covered in ugly stickers of Montblanc Ski
School and it has a roofrack with skis on it.
I'd have chosen a q for this duty, but otherwise it's a real rarity. I'd
never seen one before, and it's the only large-scale model of the 200 I've
ever seen.
I've also added a couple of items to the stack I'm saving for next year's
Pikes Peak... and got an interactive Owners Manual for the new Golf on CD
ROM, and a nice Y2k countdown watch as issued at the introduction of the
new A6. Everything was pretty cheap, luckily.
