Most dealers would realise the latter statement is true.  It could be
that he knows what he's talking about.  It's rare in a dealer, but a
possibility.

Slicking from gear to gear?  Shouldn't have much to do with the clutch,
unless it's not disengaging properly.  The gearbox, though, is even
more bullet-proof than an Audi clutch.

Yup, according to the book.  A good mechanic can get it down to 8.5 or
so.

IMO - avoid.  Nothing but trouble in the UK - mainly judder.  This is
a ten-hour strip - you don't want to be doing it again unless someone
else is paying.
