Re: Bulletproof Cars? Not...



I could be wrong on this, but one of the reason the police take cover
behind their doors is because they are specially armored.  I think the
front window of some cop cars are double thick and shatter-resistant, and
the doors have an extra metal plate in them.  Plus, having SOME cover is
always better than NONE!  (At least the door might slow/deflect those
jacketed rounds enough for the bodyarmor to protect you, if you're
wearing it!)  But I could be completely off base.  (Wouldn't be the first
time. [8^)  )  I see this argument having the potential of continuing,
(Calibers vs. Door thickness, FMJ vs.Wadcutters through
American/Asian/European cars, The possibility of ring mounting .50 cal
machineguns to modified Audi 5000 wagons a la "Rat Patrol", etc.), but
please end it here.  I like to think I'm not going to get gunned down
trying to protect the paintjob on my CGT's door panels.  Peace All!
