All this hp delivered to the rear wheels will make a nice cloud of smoke and
some screeching noise, which should no doubt impress local teenagers, while the
S4 will quietly leap forward. I am not even talking about taking corners in the
rain here ...
Coz then it will then be called an "unfair advantage".
We all remember what a beating BMW cars took from Audi in the Touring Car series
(1-2-3, sometimes 1-2-3-4-5 wins for Audi) and how BMW showed it's retrograde
face by forcing the ban of the quattro technology AND withdrew from the
competition altogether. Of course: the self-proclaimed "ultimate driving
machine" could not afford to lose so miserably.
BTW what were the results of BMW rally efforts? Frankly, I don't remember any.
I do remember the times when Audi Quattro ruled the WRC single handily though.
Oh, wait, I'll take it back: the 400hp Bimmer will have that traction control
thingy which will be clapping the driving wheels, effectively reducing the
torque and hp to the acceptable level (rumor has it - no more than 200hp for a
2WD car). So where will that all hp go, which the ///Monstrous engine struggles
to produce? Smoke, methinks.
:-)
A Bimmer guy visiting a dedicated S-page and bashing Audis - that wouldn't be an
inferiority complex, would it? Just wondering ...
I also wonder why Audi outsold BMW in their #1 and #2 markets: Germany and Great
Britain.
