door locks on 87 4kq

I'm planning on installing an aftermarket alarm into my 87 4kq and want to
use that neat-o remote door lock/unlock function that everyone else in
the world has.

I purchased a simple actuator (2-wire) from Parts Express and
plenty-'o-relays.  Upon inspecting the actuator, I can see that once I
connect it to the plunger, I won't be able to move the plunger manually,
ie. with the key.

Is there a different type of actuator that I need?  I _believe_ the one I
have will stay locked in the "up" or "down" position when there is no
power applied in either direction.

Wow, that was really un-clear.  Oh well... got up too early and it's
getting cold here in IL.
