As Dave said, 400 horses make for a very impressive stable, and as a rule are
nothing to be sneezed at. Now, Dave considered the number of horses which may
be safely be put to the pavement, and yet another consideration would be the
poundage the aforesaid horses would have to lug around. The M5 would clock in
at ~4000 lbs. while the S4 would tip the scales at ~3100. My math says that
the P:W advantage the M5 would have would be, at best, slight. However, this
ignores one basic fact about the S4's target, which is the M3. My guesstimate
would be that the weapon which Audi would level at the M5 is an S6 (a turbo
4.2 V8, anyone?) at some indeterminate point in the future.
