S&M A Comparison: Was Bimmer Boy Invades S Cars
M Cars are pretty nice, and BMW has certainly learned to tune some cars.
Still, it is sort of ignorant to condemn other makers simply because they
are not BMW. It is a typical downfall of BMW owners though, to have atitude
and something to prove. I think that ties into their status car thing.
M Cars are good, but Audi is a force to be reckoned with. Not only does
Quattro give the cars an edge up, the future is also very bright for Audi
from a technological standpoint. From all I have heard, a 40V Biturbo 4.2V8
will fit in the Audi S8, and the S6 has been seen testing. Quattro is being
slated to be improved with much lighter componentry taking away from the
only serious drawback to Quattro . . . weight.
The SEAT Bolero showcar featured the 2.7TT engine from the S4 with
330hp, so apparently VWAG has been working on ways to increase hp from the
unit, and the new W12 may find its way into an A8.
Too bad really. There are alot of great manufacturers out there. It's a
shame to close your eyes to them just because you have sold out to one. As a
huge car geek, I think a 318ti fitted with M componentry would be an awesome
car to have, but I'll wait until after I can afford an S4 first. -G
