Alarms

To the question earlier regarding the protection of factory car alarms.

As far as I know the only alarm company that makes an alarm that is
impossible to "code hop" is Clifford. This feature only starts on their
Concept 20 or 40 model I believe. All the other good alarm manufacturers
use as many as 300,000 variable combinations. However, sophisticated
code hoppers can crack these codes quite easily.

I do not know who makes the Audi alarms but I doubt they are made by
Clifford. I do know BMW used Alpine for a while. Also, Clifford Alarms
are capable of integrating with most manufacturers Alarms without
damaging the integrity of the current system.

If you own a keyless entry remote system (add-on) DO NOT leave any
valuables in your car! Most basic Alarms with keyless entry are
incredible easy to "code-hop" by purchasing a $50 gadgett from an
installers magazine.

Keep in mind...this information is most valuable in very high crime
areas. I doubt these problems exist in most regions (including NC and
WI) BTW when I lived in NC, Southern hospitality was only present when
you knew the people or were related (good possibility of the latter if
you were born there--smirk).

No this was not a plug but guess which alarm I own.
