but,

I thought it was due to the following process -

1.  natural oil leaves deposits on seals, blocking oil's access to them
2.  the seals dry out a bit, but it's ok, as they are covered by
deposits
3.  switch to synth cleans out deposits
4.  seals, which have degraded and are now no longer covered, begin to
leak

not actually the synth oil's fault, just a problem exposed by it.

am I right?
