Re: Air Filter



It's a pain but it can be done....

First, you need to remove the slide-on parts that comprise the rear of the
headlamp assembly.  Then, there are a number of clips that hold the top of
the airbox on.  Maybe 7 or so.  Then you carefully lift the entire
boxtop/FI distributor/lines/etc...  up and carefully wiggle them about and
back and forth and remove the box.  You don't take the box off completely.
Just enough to get the old filter out.  Sometime helps to have another
person to grab the filter and slide it out.  The filter is a few inches
deep so you only need that much clearance.  I try and get a shop vac in
there and clean out the bottom of the box if there's debris hanging about.

This is also a good time to remove and check the condition of all the
vacuum hoses.  If they've never been replaced, they could need it.
