I don't know what provision there is on the S6 - perhaps Scott Mockry
knows?  In any event, a VAG 1551 would produce codes, but you wouldn't
necessarily know how old they are - the memory is non-volatile and
not timestamped.  One of the fuses can be pulled out to clear the
memory so you can collect a new set of codes for the VAG 1551 to look
at.
