Its far more sophisticated than that.  The Fuzzy logic controllers have 
boost pressure sensors after the turbo and just before the air goes into 
the head.  They also hav atmospheric pressure sensors, and temperature 
sensors.   They measure the response chracteristics of the entire 
intake/turbo/exhaust system, and alter their own repsonse times to 
guarantee the set boost level at all RPMs (as much as physically possible 
- they don't perform magic)

Now if Superchips' unit does that at each rpm point, then you are right - 
it is more sophisticated.   The proof is on the pudding - the EVC and the 
Profec are phenominal at controlling boost.
