I spoke with Carl Merrill's wife Barbara this morning, and
the Merrill family is meeting today to determine how to
handle the requests for a memorial service.

Carl did not believe in funerals, rarely attended other
funerals, and asked that there not be one for him.  He also
requested no memorial service.

But Barbara sees the need for closure among their 500
employees, who loved Carl like a brother, and the rally
community.  The family will decide whether to have a sunrise
gathering on the beach in Ogunquit later this week (Thursday
morning is the best guess right now).

Barbara said the family will make a decision by the end of
the day, and I will notify people at that time.  Meanwhile,
please let me know if you have any questions.
