Check Engine Light

For the last two weeks, the Check Engine Light has appeared from time to
time. At this point, I simply pull over to the side of the road and "reboot"
(turn off/on) the engine. The light goes away and doesn't come back for
several days. I would expect that if there is something really wrong, that
the light would re-appear immediately. Since it does not, I'm starting to
lose faith in the light at all.

Thoughts?
