RE: 90 MPH at 3000 rpm's in 5th gear (and BMW stuff)

Me too...

This must be my lucky day. I started a Mergers and Acquisitions business
(on the side), and I took my first company public today. On the way to see
a partner at lunch, I ran up Beverly Glen to Mulholland (2 doors from the
Shaq's house. I shoulda done this biz sooner in life... :-) ). I'm
doing the speed limit (no, really!!), and 1 of the million BMW's here in LA,
a new 7 series (I assume a 740, read on and you'll know why) put his bumper
(and brights) right on my a$$. I shift into second and stand on it. I hit
the overboost cutoff a couple of times (Scott Mo. I changed the WGFV, and I
think all those shims w/ your 1.8 bar spring are a little much. Oh, and I
think I prolly owe you $30) I don't see him again until the top of the hill
at the light (2 miles maybe, steep grade). He is behind me (again) and
flips me off. Is my car _supposed_ to beat a 740i? I assume it was a 740i
'cause I would think a 750il would be unbeatable, or at least a challenge,
esp. on a hill.

So on the way down, a 325 (1992?) is behind me, very similar scenario,
except this guy pulled up to me at the light at the bottom of the hill and
cheerfully asked me "What the hell you got in that thing? I was on the edge
the whole way."

I wish I could have used Phil's now patented reply ("Yeah. But that's a
quattro.")
And maybe I will. I'm looking at an 88 5kcstq right now.

BTW, it is 80mph at 3,000 mph. Did it all the way back to work on the 101.
