Regarding pulling the fault codes on the S6
On the S4/S6 with the AAN 5cyl Turbo 20V, you can use the check engine
light or an LED to blink out any fault codes stored in the ECU.
There are two connectors in the relay box under the hood by the
windshield. Pull the clip forward and the relay box cover off. There is one
black and white connector located in the front corner of the relay box,
each connector has openings for two electrical terminals in them.
With the engine running or with the ignition key on, use a piece of thin
wire to short across the two terminals facing forward in the black and
white connectors for four seconds , remove the wire jumper and the Check
Engine light will then blink out the codes.

You can also run the output tests to check the fuel injectors, idle
stabilizer valve, carbon canister valve and waste gate frequency valve on
these vehicles.
