intermittent stalling

Hi, I'm out of town this weekend and of course I'm having problems with 
my car.  It's an '84 5KS.  The problem is that it just stalls without 
warning.  If I coast to a stop and wait for a minute or so it will start 
up again as if nothing happened, and then stall another minute or so 
later.  The tachometer continues to read properly, everything else works, 
but I get no throttle response and I can't figure out what the problem 
is.  I have to drive 300km to get home and I don't want to have my car 
stalling every two minutes.  Up until today, this had only happened once 
before and didn't recur so I didn't bother getting the problem checked 
out.  I would appreciate any responses ASAP since I would like to get 
home today.  TIA
