Advice to Levant
Levant,
As a very busy list member, I don't have time to participate in the list as
I would like to. I have however been on the list for about a year and have
read everything that you and the other listers have been saying.
As a "younger" list member, I want to advise you on one thing. We are here
to share advise, talk about and help eachother with Audi issues and on rare
occasion other things. There is no need to try to make yourself a better
then thou individual by bragging about the car you drive or by making
outrageous claims. I am not here to judge anyone based on the fact of
whether or not they can get 280 hp out of the 6, or whether or not they buy
their own S6 or not.
I am sure that you are a decent guy who has had his ego bashed a little
becuase of the brash reception you got when you made the claims about your
motor. Listin, I am not saying they are or are not true, but I am saying
that you need to consider what you say and the results they bring upon you.
If you can actually get the power out of your car, great. However, if you
have an interest in telling us all about it, you have to realize that people
will want to know how you did it. I refer you to my earlier statement. "We
are here to share advise, talk....." and so on.
I think the whole motor thing is somewhat behind us. However it is just
some advise as not to talk, talk, talk, and be unwilling to share. Although
by the attitude you have taken, you need to realize you will get some slack
for it. However, it is unfair for you to attack those who comment on your
attitude. I am sure you are a nice guy, but you need to understand that if
you tempt the dogs and then don't feed them they will bite you. Levant, you
need to expect this and not bite back. It will never end if you do. There
are a lot of the tempted dogs and only one of you. Chances are one of the
dogs will always be trying to bite. To prove my point: this has been going
on now since about June if I remeber right.
I am glad that you are fortunate enough to be able to get a S6. They are
wonderful cars and highly invigorating to drive. But, you will get nowhere
by juvenile bragging. If you want to aline yourself with the spirt of the
list, get excited, tell us how much you love the car and then maybe ask for
advise on something. Don't brag. We don't care.
Listen, becuase you are young does not mean you are incompotent your looked
down upon. As I said, I am a "younger" lister too. The list needs all ages
and all interest levels, you could be a big asset if you want to. Just calm
the tone down a little and realize no one wants to be in the company of
someone who enjoys slamming his own foot in the door. We sure don't like to
listin to them compain on how much it hurts. Take your foot out of the door
and try a humbler more appologetic approach.
