Misc responses to contents of #2881



Tim, on the oil, I yield to your expertise, however, I still maintain
you're not getting the heavily promoted premium product when you go to
these places, in cases where the product line contains more than one
grade or level of merchandise. For example, our local Firestone sells
Kendall oil, but it is NOT GT-1, but a lower level general purpose
product, not sold as a prerformance lubricant.
Regarding Consumer reports, IMHO there is a common feeling in the trade
that their tests/opinions are fine for vacuum cleaners and TV sets,
but..................
Regarding the thought that the Audi filter is SEVEN times the price of
the Fram, hogwash. The Fram sells for 3 to 5 bucks, the OE Audi filter
for about 6-7.
