NOISY FUEL PUMP

Hey everyone, I have a noisy fuel pump in a 1991 Audi 100.  I don't think it
is ruining the performance or is it?  I feel that the noise is just damn
annoying.  Should I get it fixed or leave it?  Give me your opinions plese.
Also how much will it cost?  I also heard that the pump itself may not be bad,
but the mount.  Anyone hear of this?  I heard that Audi mounts the fuel pumps
onto rubber, and after a couple of  years the rubber hardens and hence the
annoying buzzing sound of the fuel pump.  Any answers?
