FROM CRUTCHFIELD <WWW.CRUTCHFIELD.COM> or <1-800-955-3000>
Panasonic CD Changer, Part # 133CXDP601, Price $269.95
1998 Audi to Panasonic CD Changer Adapter, Part # 541AUPAN98, Price $19.95
FROM LOCAL AUDI DEALER
CD-Kit, Part # 8D5-051-103, Price $90.00 (ouch!)

This part can be had for much less from Clair Audi Express, or Carlsen Audi.
I think you will save $20$30 over that Audi price for the mounting "bucket".
I forgot how much I got mine from Clair, but it was much less than $90. If it
was $90, I would have passed. Also, I think Clair has such a good price on
the Audi CD changer, that it costs the same as the aftermarket one since you
don't have to buy the adapter. Give Mark Burns at Clair a call, he can give
you a price quote.
Best thing is, since I bought the "Audi" CD changer from Clair, if it breaks
down after the 1 year warranty is up, I will take it to the dealer and tell
him "this was in the car when I bought it!", thus getting the full effect of
the 3yr/50K warranty on the changer.
BTW: If I had made this same post on the A4.org list, I would have gotten many
responses insulting me and calling me a crook for trying to pass off the CD
changer as an OEM dealer installed one for purposes of faking the warranty.
Last time I posted sharing how I fooled my dealer into reprogramming my locks
for free by saying "AoA said it would be free" and showing them the
instructions......all these guys on A4.org started insulting me, saying that
what i did was illegal and I must have no values, blah blah blah...whatever.
