'84 ur-q for sale - Cincinnati

I thought I'd give the list and the people who responded to my earlier
post a quick summary of a recent test drive of an '84 ur-q.

Disclaimer: I've never owned or previously driven an Audi until this
test drive. And I've never owned or previously driven a turbo, however,
I have driven an all-wheel drive BMW 325ix. I consider my auto
mechanical skills to be quite limited....I'll go as far as installing a
new clutch or new axle, but will hesitate to even remove the valve
cover. That being said here goes:

The car is a 1984 Audi Turbo Coupe, black, 117k miles, OE 15x8 wheels
with P700s (about half worn), moonroof, and the all important underhood
fuse box. Euro bumpers are the only modifications.

Pros: It is an '84 with the fuse box under the hood on the driver's side
It has the OE (Ronal?) 15x8 wheels
Runs well, no obvious signs of surging or hesitation
Suspension in good shape. AFAIK however, bushings are original
Owner doesn't appear to drive the car hard (read few if any redline
       shifts)
Owner is cognizant of warming up/cooling down engine with turbo
       Dealer serviced

Cons: Original Turbo
Body in decent shape with a couple of rust spots visible
Paint is scaling on top of hatch and near C pillar
Paint on front bumper is flaking
Most hoses and vacuum lines look like they need replacing
Constant valve clatter type noise even after startup
I believe it is using dino oil and not synthetic
       Radio antenna doesn't work
AC doesn't work, owner thinks it just needs a charge
Clutch pressure is heavy and hard to modulate
Center console around shifter is loose
Hatch release needs fiddling to work
Side seat blow-up supports don't work

I didn't get a chance to push it hard as it was rush hour. Owner is
looking to get about $12k. I am probably going to pass on this car,
however, you can contact the owner at:

                avdb1@yahoo.com

His name is: Andries Vanderbent
   Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Good luck!
