Some Neuspeed times for you (A4 1.8t)
Hey fellow Qheads,
I took my car out yesterday with my dad to finally see what this Neuspeed chip
has done for my car. We cut the testing short after a cop stopped us to see
what we were doing (the ONLY reason i didn't get a ticket was since my Dad was
in the car). But we did get one good 0-60 time in.
THE CAR:
'98.5 A4 1.8T FWD, non-sunroof, non sport with 11K miles.
Bone stock; so this is a very light car.
STOCK:
0-60 in 7.9 sec. is my best time (witnessed by Eric Fluhr), but most of my
times are in the 8.0 - 8.1 range.
I was alone in the car with 3/4 tank of gas, air temp was around 85 degrees at
night. I did this testing one night when Eric Fluhr was in town. He and his
brother Ken brought his dad's 1.8tq out to test along with my car.
MODIFIED:
after putting in the Neuspeed chip
0-60 in 7.05 sec
This is my only test i've done so far (not many places around here to do the
testing).
I had my dad in the car with me (210 pounds), half a tank of gas, and it was
87 degrees in the afternoon. I have also put in a K&N filter since my stock
test, but I really don't think that adds anything more than 1-2hp...which
isn't enough to see a difference in 0-60 times. I also have vented the back
wall of the wheel well behind the intercooler....I don't know if that makes
any difference.
I bet I could break the 7 sec barrier with a better launch and without
passengers, I will keep you posted. I will be doing some more testing this
week hopefully, then I have to mail my G Tech to Josh Linder to barrow.
All that I have to say is, a .85 second drop in my 0-60 time for only
$180.....WOW.
