Yes, I agree. And a practice I usually follow on my own hook.

But don't rely on trained Audi mechanics to do _that_ job right. When I
bought my '91 200q, the wiper action really sucked. But the repair history
showed that only a few months earlier the PO had new rubber refills
installed at Morong Audi at a total cost of, oh I think about $20/pr. They
_looked_ OK, but when I took 'em apart it was obvious that the spring steel
inserts had been installed _backwards_ (upside down). For the sake of
consistency, they screwed up both right and left.

This reduces wiping efficiency by about 90%!
