Just a quick update re my 4ks non q:  Is still 
at the shop (they are laid back, very mellow, and very affordable).  They will be getting the head apart and let me know what's up!
In the meantime, am going to look at an 85
4KQ this evening.  What should I look for re
the diff locks, which does what (sorry for the dumb question!)     Thanks!      Ron
