Is this the same thing as a 'rotary?' We used to have two of them
here in Nova Scotia, "Canada's Ocean Playground" (says that on my
license plate...must be true). Now we have one, eh! Progress! The
one we have left is five ways in an' five ways out. You get in and
hope to get out! Things can get pretty snarly once you're in. At the
entrance to some of the 'ins' is a traffic light with both a red light
and a green light 'on' at all times except during rush hour. Everyone
knows that during rush hour you're on your own anyway. It's you go, I
go, you go, I go, etc.

There are four things that screw this wonderful system up.

1. People that are overwhelmed, stop their vehicle, get out and start
to cuss at other people who are not holding up their end (this is rare
; )

2. People actually whack into one another, fender benders, we're not
going to fast here, stop the car in the middle of the rotary and call
the cops (not so rare ; )

3. People who think there is only one way out when indeed there are
five (it's hard to explain this one - common ; ) If the round-about
is the same you will know.

4. Tourists. Can't blame them. What would you do if you came to a
light that was red _and_ green? They stop. Usually after a bunch of
honking in the rear they start to creep forward ever so gently. "Geez
Harriet, I think we're breakin' the law here!"
