Sorry to butt in but I just learned a bit about this in psych... Somebody or
other did a bunch of experiments to find out if this was actually true (the
Germans being followers that is) and tested a bunch of other groups including
americans. They found that all the groups were equally conformist, and to a
greater extent than expected. I can try to find the details of this if
anybody's interested...
