QFOM:Back, alive, better than ever

Yes, that's right, ladies and gents! The QFOM is back, running the latest
FOM software. It's lean, it's mean, it's a question-answering machine!

With some luck, I salvaged all the old material(not much, but there was a
fair amount of really valuable stuff, like Sean's huge entry on the climate
control codes for his (92?) 100CS.)

But alas...

...I need help adding material and keeping this bad-boy up to date. Seeing
that the new job is taking up just about all my time, I can't enter in
stuff all on my own.

Sooooo...

...I need 2-3 volunteers. Preferably some individuals with different
backgrounds; for example, an a4(or, just new models-in-general) guy would
be great, since there are a TON of a4 owners out there n'stuff. I also
need someone to handle UrQ's and other older Audis.

As I've said before, the QFOM can be of great help to the community, but it
must be fed by knowledgable individuals. The strength is that not everyone
is a know-it-all, but many people have very specialized experience with
some particular area or problem. If 100 of those people each enter their
little tidbits, then you've got something spiffy!

BTW, the QFOM is located at:
http://pdikeman.ne.mediaone.net/cgi-bin/fom

Oh, and according to the features in the latest version of the Faq-O-Matic
software, this version should be MUCH faster after a while; instead of
launching Perl and the CGI script each time, it forms cache pages and
eventually links to them instead of using the CGI script to generat the
page. Since I just installed it, I don't think it will cache anything just
yet, but it should start very shortly(probably after the hourly maintenance
script runs.)

Please let me know if you have any troubles with the QFOM. I am happy to
assist. I do ask that you familiarize yourself with how the QFOM works
before you go around adding stuff; you could accidentally add a category or
something where you don't want to. There is a link, in an "answer" on the
main page, to another FOM that is maintained by the author of the
Faq-O-Matic software(it is called "The FOM FOM" :)
There is a "users manual" type section there; good reading that before
adding something.

Thx!
Brett
