Indeed. A contingent of the UK Audi quattro Owners Club went to the
Nuerburgring on 4-7 September this year. Apparently they had a great
time and the trip went off without any incident of any kind worth
reporting.

Someone else wasn't so lucky - I had a forwarded eye-witness report of a
red UK-registered ur-quattro with an all-male crew being very seriously
damaged on the Nordschleife sometime after 4pm on 6 September, an
incident confirmed by the Nuerburgring administration. It seems a
little odd that our group didn't see this car, even unwrecked. After
all, red UK-registered ur-quattros are not _that_ common. Pretty
serious damage - front nearside wheel folded under the car, etc.

By pure co-incidence, one of the people who went on the Nuerburgring
trip in a red ur-quattro with an all-male crew _did_ write off his car,
but on Dartmoor a week later.

He was a long way from home, but at least help was not far away. AM
Cars are in Ilminster, quite close to Dartmoor, and have a flatbed. It
must have been sad for the proprietor to have to recover one of the
vehicles he'd been going round the Nuerburgring with only a week
earlier - he was also on the trip.
