Bosch Plugs -- Help!
I changed my plugs this weekend in m y 5KCSTQ -- and an interesting things
occurred.
I put all 5 Platinums in and started the car. In ran horribly. I've
changes at least 10 seats of plugs in my Audis -- all Bosch Plats -- and
I've NEVER had an issue with any of them being off-gap or otherwise
defective.
The car shook live a Harley Davidson -- and sounded just like it shook.
The car stuttered when accelerating.
I couldn't stand it, so at 12:00 midnight I was outside putting the old
plugs back in 1-by-1 until I get to the fourth one back and found the
culprit: there was visually NO GAP in the plug at all!. It was covered in
oil as well -- but I think it was from pulling it from the socket because
there was a bit of oil 9a VERY little bit) around the socket.
I put the new ones back in -- except for #4 where I kept the old one in.
Sure enough -- the car runs fine. BUT, now it has a hard time starting.
Nothing that appears to be a HUGE problem -- it always SOUNDS like it's
starting harder than most, but it even stalled a few times right after I
started it.
The car runs fantastic now -- the new plugs are great as usual -- and all
is well and good -- EXCEPT for the annoying hard starting thing going on.
Why is this happening?
Also, what is that place plastic coiled hose things attached to the
triangular thing bolted to the valve cover> It seems to come from
something and go somewhere -- but does anyone know if it has ant type of
functionality?
TIA
