Almost, but not quite, I would think. It's still a ~$60 part, and you
can check it easily, as detailed nicely in Scott Mockry's pages and the
Bentley. Yes, there's always a chance that it's having intermittent
problems when you're actually out on the road, but my (apparently
original) wide-open-throttle switch seems to still work properly. I just
set my DMM to its audible conductivity test and move the throttle back
and forth many times rapidly, and it never failed to beep when at the
right times.
I was actually hoping that the switch was bad, so that I could replace
it and get a big "improvement" in performance, but maybe it really is
running the way it's supposed to! (Sure, there could be plenty of other
things to check too.)
