Have you checked the license plate light? If blown, they affect the
operation of dash light.

Very low battery voltage will cause the idle controller to increase idle
speed. If this is not the case, I would suspect dirty/failing ISV. Checking
the idle adjustment screw for adjustment/vacuum leaks is a good idea, too.

Vapor lock is a common problem on Audis as well. Do the injector cooling
fan and afterrun radiator fan operate as required?

Sticking caliper?
