Dim Lights on an 89 90q

The recent talk on the list about DRL's, and xenon bulbs has convinced me
to ask about my current problem. The low and high beams on my audi seemed
to have 'browned' recently. This makes for rather unsafe, or slow, driving
at night. The fog lights however, seem to be as bright as usual.  Any ideas?
