Guys aren't we getting a little bit far from the point here.  I'm sure   
you all like your various Audis.  I'm happy for you.  Hell, I like my   
Audi.  I' sure your happy for me.  The original discussion concerned   
handling prowess/speed in the context other marques getting passed/not   
being able to keep up/crashing etc.  People defending this Audi   
superiority were quick to cite the racing record.

Whether you like your S4 or 200 or whatever because it fits more people   
or "feels" more secure to you is valid but irrelevant.  Does an A4 spank   
a 323i or 328i?  Does an A6 spank a 528i?  Does an A8 spank a 740i?  Does   
any modified Audi in the States spank an M3, 540i 6 speed, Z3 6 cylinder,   
or the new coupe.  Perhaps a handful.  I know there is a very, very   
modified S6 in Chicago that Scott put together (Rs2?, big reds, etc.)   
that can run with the M sedans before they are modified.  Sorry, those   
are the facts as I see them.

Audis are great cars because they are elegant and do many things pretty   
well.  That's enough for me.

P.S.  Matt Rooke - what review did you read?  The new 328i (in the U.S.   
Dave E.) was far superior in all the performance tests given how close   
these cars are positioned in the marketplace.  I don't have the review in   
front of me but I was astounded to see gaps over 1.5 seconds in 30-50 and   
50-70 times.
