Re: The right rear caliper questions
So there is one more Audi with Ford handbrake retraction springs now.
The Ford springs look exactly like the original ones but the the
material is a little thicker and the springs have more 'positive
action' :-). Thanks Phil Payne for the part numbers.
Anyway I still need a screwdriver to open the left rear brake after
releasing the handle :-(. The spring is still too weak after half an
hour of pull handle - release handle and open brake manually to get it
free.
So to all of you: Install those springs _before_ you get into this
trouble and use the handbrake regularly.
I will disassemble the caliper one day. No way I am going to pay DM
550 for a new caliper at Audi and unlikely I will find caliper on a
scrapyard because they changed from 36 mm to 38 mm pistons in the year
of production.
