I'd think that the S4 door construction is similar to that of the earlier
100/200.
The outer door skin is attached to the car at the door hinges. There is an
inner door frame that the window mechanism is attached to. When the window is
down, and the door is open, there is no upper window frame (the seal is part
of the car body).
You probably want the window up for this procedure.
The mounting for the inner door frame can be moved in relation to the outer
door frame. Pull off the inner door skin (on my 200: three allen-head bolts
in the door armrest, pull off the armrest and unplug the switches; two philips
screws in the door pull, unhook the cable from the door pull, one philips
screw from each upper side of the inner door skin, then unsnap the plastic
retaining parts at the door skin base, and lift up and off; it doesn't come
off completely, and you may need to unplug some wiring to the door
locks/alarm.
There are four bolts holding on the inner door frame to the outer door skin;
you may need to remove the speaker and some insulation to see them. There are
also some spacers; keep track of them and replace the same
way/number/position. Mark the registration of the inner door frame to the
outer (I traced the outline), then loosen the bolts. You can now lift and
move the frame a bit fore and aft, and up and down. The most important places
to have the window hit are at the top, and leading edge about 2/3 way up.
Somewhat of a pain, but about an hour procedure. Can be done alone, but
having a friend hold the window frame while tightening helps.
