Idiot Alternator Question And Bosch Light Alternative

Hey all, just want to know if there is anything I should know before
connecting my driving lights to the alternator +/power output.  I just don't
want to get zapped. Do I need to disconnect anything else first?

    BTW, I recently installed a pair of Bosch Compass driving lights on my
85 4ksq, and WOW do they make a difference.  Sure I could have purchased the
Euro conversion or even just the pair of new, unpitted lenses, but for $60-
I am very satisfied w/ the improved visibility.  I spent a little bit of
xtra time mounting them under the bumper- had to cut the lower grill
slightly, but they look really good.
