Haven't been to New Mills in ages. I used to like walking down by the
river and watching the steam trains come out of the tunnel, cross the
bridge, and go straight into the tunnel the other side. Quite a
spectacular little gorge, in its own way.
Take a walk down there while your MoT is being done, and contemplate
how cold it's gonna be without clothes. I replaced my driver's side
seatbelt about 15k miles ago - I figured close to 150k had probably
weakened it enough. Particles get into the weave and wear on the
fibres. I was surprised that Audi sent the whole shebang - including
the long rail that the captive end of the ur-quattro belt slides along.
