As I recall, David Hasselhoff (as Micheal Knight) would drive the knight
rider vehichle (K.I.T. for those of us who remember) both into and out of a
moving semi truck.  this was always done at a very slow speed, cameras
placed properly for illusion.

To back out of the semi I believe they just rolled out in neutral, and
burned up a little bit of the tires as it hit, then they put it in gear and
went.  Presumably this was done in an automatic.

No idea how they go into the semi!
