RE: driving onto moving object

I think my preference would be for a RWD configuration. This allows you
to transition the front wheels from speed to 0 without having to deal
with the engine. Once on you could accelerate while running up the ramp
... possibly coasting that last foot onto the ramp.

I would guess there are at least 2 ways of accomplishing this stunt and
making it appear like its happening at speed.
1) do it at low speed so the car driver has time to stop before joining
the semi driver in the cab, then speed up the replay. I suppose a
subset here would be to use a low friction coefficient surface on the
ramp to take up some of the torque of the rear wheels but squirrel
factor would go way up.
2) take Steve suggestion, RWD, front brakes only. Back the car off the
ramp (how to get wheels from rolling along mode to driven at speed still
needs work) then simply replay footage in reverse so car appears to be
driving on. I think this would also account for the weird continuity
glitches in the footage. I personally would bet this was how Knight
Rider and Raul Julias Ferrari did it in The Gumball RallY?
