The time has come to install a radio for the '90s in the Quattro(in
other words, I'm sick of not having a CD player in the car).
However, before I dive in, I've got a couple of questions.
First off, assuming I stick to a DIN sized radio, will I run into any
ugly fitment problems? Is there adequate depth behind the mounting
slot for a CD
player?

I recently went thru the same thing. Fortunately the 4Kqs came with
Blaupunkt radios and so I just purchased myself a little Blaupunkt
Miami (AM/FM Single CD) and it slid right in and used the same
mounting brackets. I looked at other radios and they all had mounting
assemblies that could be purchased. It should be a simple job.
