BRETT-Re: Bear Mt Tour,
BRETT, I've been trying to answer your mail to me directly, but it bounced
back twice as unknown so, for you and anyone else interested:

Mike, where abouts are you located? >>
I live 20 minutes north of Bear Mt., near Newburgh NY, 1/2 way between Albany
and NYCity. The NY thruway runs N-S through Newburgh, as well as 84 E-W. Seems
it is/was organized by a "MR2 enthusiast group" and Osman P. had arranged for
interested parties to tag along. Below is the only info I have from 2 weeks
ago, and I'm not sure if it was Sat or Sun. I get the feeling at this late
date that its not happening. I e-mailed the "organizer" 10 days ago offering
planning help since I know the roads in the area, but he never responded. I'll
let you know if I hear anything, but it seems too late for non-confrimed
plans. Post follows:
<< The criteria for the drive is basically this.9:00 to 10:00 or 10:30 AM -
Show & Shine @ Tuxedo Park.I don't know whether or not to go to West Point
from here first or later, but if first, then leave for West Point. Phil
Guisto will give us our
guided tour.Leave West Point, head north up the Storm King Highway. There is
a town that has a bridge up north a little bit where we can cross over and
come
back south on the other side of the Hudson. Head down to the Bear Mountain
Bridge, and traffic permitting, head up to the top of the mountain.Otherwise,
take a scenic drive through the park, and then eat dinner.
